In the end they ended up with a winning draw as scores were tied on 211. The Saturday 2s attained a losing draw with Captain Ev de Silva and John Culley batting for almost 12 overs to frustrate Cheam Cricket Club. Honourable mention must be made of Irfan Ali who scored 63 for the 2s to carry his runs total in 2 innings to 159 runs. (tip for the Fantasy Cricket!!!). The 3s just failed to hang on to a losing draw with 2 wickets falling in the final over against Egham Cricket Club.

Last Weekend Of May 2010
The Saturday 3s recorded a winning draw against Weybridge Cricket Club to carry their unbeaten streak to 3 weeks after a shaky start to the season. This puts them into fourth position in the Surrey Championship Division 1 3rd XI table. Mark Pullen scored 89 while Trev Evans also contributed with a fine 66 with the bowlers chipping in to cap a good all round team performance. This weekend will be an important one as the 3s play Egham Cricket Club who are third in the table.
The Saturday 1s, 2s and 4s will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend.
The Poets continue to excel winning their fourth game of the season. Rich “Slimber” (51) notched his first 50 of the season while David Rooks (50) continued his good all round form grabbing 2 for 31 and scoring his second 50 of the season.
On Sunday, the Sunday 2s and Worcester Park had an exciting day of cricket with 20 wickets falling with Worcester Park coming out on top.

G Whitmore starred with the ball grabbing 6 for 16 as the Saturday 4s trounced the London Welsh Cricket Club while Al Gardner recorded the highest score on Saturday with 73 for the Poets.

Second Weekend Of The Season
The second weekend of the season was much tougher with the only the Saturday 3s and the Poets winning. The Saturday 2s were unlucky to lose in the last over while the Saturday 1s had a tough match at Valley End.

The Cat – Garfield Fontaine – grabbed a career best 9 wickets for 9 runs in a wonderful spell of bowling for the Poets which was definitely the outstanding highlight of the weekend. Honourable mention must be made of the Saturday 3s who won for the first time this season with a real team effort and some outstanding batting from Ben Shaw, Mark Pullen, Jim Bolton and Jason Wentzel.
There were a few games played on Sunday but the pull of the final of the 20/20 world cup caused those matches to be “abandoned”. The Ageing Rock Stars XI and the Sunday 3s seemed set for a close finish while the Sunday 2s also looked set for an exciting run chase against Riverside Cricket Club.
